Project Quality Manager

MWH Constructors, a leader in the construction of water/wastewater facilities, is currently seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager in Gresham, OR.

The Quality Manager position will coordinate and implement quality management standards to maintain excellence in MWH's deliverables. The Quality Manager will confirm that all project work is compliant with MWH and client standards and meets all specified requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates all onsite QA/QC activities to ensure compliance with applicable company, owner, and government regulations and requirements.
  • Responsible for establishing quality programs and processes, conducts internal and external quality audits, and provides technical direction to quality engineers and projects staff.
  • Assists the project team with the development of project site specific quality plans, including the development of a schedule for timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Decides acceptance or rejection of all work in process and completed work activities.
  • Conducts onsite inspection verifications when needed (measures, monitoring, witnesses, documentation).
  • Ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance.
  • Report to work closely with the Project Manager and other members of the Project Manager's office to confirm that all work is being delivered in conformance with MWH requirements and Client's specifications.
  • Manage and continually improve the Design Quality Management System.
  • Establish, track, and report on trends for key quality metrics including customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other related field required; an equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training may be substituted.
  • Minimum of 10 years' quality control experience and understanding of QA/QA.
  • Significant equivalent experience in a quality management role directly applied to areas in construction.
  • Must have the ability to determine standards for acceptance/rejection of work based on assigned criteria.
  • Progressive responsibility and ability to demonstrate clear understanding of quality management principles.
  • Experienced in the development and execution of management systems.
  • Experience in auditing the application of management systems.
  • Able to balance competing interests.
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience in reviewing projects and providing training to new or existing staff is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification(s) by leading organizations within the quality management industry is desirable.
  • Prior experience with water/wastewater construction.
