Senior Superintendent-Electrical

MWH Constructors, Inc. ("MWH"), a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Superintendent on a large wastewater treatment plant project in Austin, TX.

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all electrical construction activities, on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise all electrical work on the project.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Coordinate with other superintendents and project managers to integrate electrical with other trades.
  • Monitor and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and compliance of electrical work.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in the electrical installation.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure activities are executed efficiently.
  • Procurement – Coordinate with PM and PE’s to ensure all materials needed to perform specific tasks are procured and available when needed.
  • Labor Productivity Reporting, Change Management and Cost Estimating – Coordinate with PM, PE, estimators and foreman to ensure accurate recording of actual cost. Assist in the development of accurate change order estimates and Time and Materials tickets.
  • Coordinate with PM to determine method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary facilities and controls.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems (e.g. lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
  • Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Assist with instrumentation and controls (I&C) and commissioning and start up.
  • Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
  • Responsible for the safe conduct of MWHC personnel to ensure a zero-accident project.
  • Ensure all site personnel meet minimum safety requirements (e.g. training, orientations, tools and equipment).

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role on heavy civil projects and/or municipal wastewater treatment plants projects.
  • Expertise in electrical project work.
  • Prior experience with I&C and commissioning & start up activities.
  • BS degree or a combination of education, experience and/or skills.
