About the Role
MWH is currently seeking a Director of Human Resources, based in our corporate headquarters located in Broomfield, CO. This position reports to the CFO.
The Director of HR will lead our HR Department and will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support the organization's overall business objectives. MWH employs 800 employees across 30 states, with some international presence.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Partner with executive leadership team to drive the organization's culture, human resources and talent strategy, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employee law.
- Provide leadership and guidance throughout the organization but must also be willing and able to do day-to-day HR tasks while embodying a "roll up the sleeves" and "can do" attitude.
- Provide guidance and support to manager and employees on HR-related issues, including knowledgeable coaching to all levels throughout the organization; find workable solutions to complex issues.
- Lead and mentor the HR team members to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Continue strengthening the onboarding process for strong project and department-specific onboarding.
- Manage the performance review and salary structure systems.
- Optimize HR workflows for efficiency, ensuring processes are streamlined and effective in supporting business and employee needs.
- Nurture a positive working environment and ensure high levels of employee engagement.
- Manage and supervise HR teams across multiple locations.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits to ensure the organization attracts the best talent.
Basic Qualifications
- Four-year degree in human resources, organizational design, business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years' relevant HR experience leading the routine functions of an HR department.
- Minimum 8 years of management experience.
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Proven work experience as an HR Director/VP of HR or similar leadership position.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law at the federal, state, and local level, as well as HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and implementation.
- Strong understanding of compensation, benefits, training, recruitment, and performance management.
- Excellent leadership abilities and outstanding communication skills.
- Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to and capability to engage and inspire employees.
- Experience working in the construction industry is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong decision-making skills and strategic mindset.
- Highly skilled in building trusting, collaborative relationships. Excel in interpersonal communications, inclusive leadership, and managing difficult conversations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to accommodate the demands of the role, including travel up to 25%.
- This position is based in-office/onsite and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

Compensation
- The anticipated base salary for this position ranges between $200,000-250,000/yr. depending on previous experience.
